Zava Hart

I grew up in San Francisco and met my hubby in Sacramento and raised our family there. Now that we have moved, we will miss all the places we enjoyed going to, but now we will discover new ones! My husband and I loved having lunch in Sausalito at Spinnaker’s, and there’s a wonderful Russian bakery on Geary Blvd if you like pirozhki. We never left S.F. without getting some.

I come from a very large family, and having three children myself is very satisfying. We travel a lot together. We take our children everywhere. We are a very musical family. Each son plays an instrument and so does my husband. So I am lucky to have my own built-in band!

My life’s passion has always been to be a writer, although I have been a senior accountant for over 40 years. I always had all these stories in my head. When I was fifteen, I wanted to be a writer, and I was lucky enough to have a great English teacher who encouraged me to do it. He always wrote a nice note next to all my stories. Although it took 30 years, I only wish now I could tell him I finally succeeded and never forgot what he told me.

One night a few years ago, I told my husband I would go crazy if I didn’t write this story. He shut the door to the office, gave me a go-for-it smile, and alas, The Unforgettable Summer was created. Since then I have written the sequel, Meant to Be, and an adventure love story called Ellie’s Secrets. I am now working on six more books.

Here comes 2026 and it will be a bright and exciting year. My family is growing, and we are all very busy. Making a life change and moving into a new state is scary and exciting both at the same time. But as they say, one chapter ends and another begins.
